- Goto my NETWORK PLACES and click SETUP HOME OR SMALL OFFICE NETWORK.
- Then in the NETWORK SETUP WIZARD in the connection method Select the Second option,
- Remember to keep the WORKGROUP name same when asked.
- In the last dialog just select the option USE MY WINDOWS XP CD , and then next and just finish the setup.
- In the connection method dialog do as in fig.
- In next dialog box select your internet connection.
- In the CONNECTIONS select your another computer(WIN XP PC name should appear ) you want to connect to the Network eg. I have selected desktop as this is my another pc.
- Give The same WORKGROUP name when asked and then finish the wizard.
- Make your Internet connection as Home Network.
- Check that the connection you are using to connect to Internet is TCP/IPv6 enabled. To check it go to properties of the internet connection and in Network Tab select the TCP/IPv6 and then click ok. For networking IPv6 must be enabled.
- In sharing tab, Check the internet sharing option, and in the click down menu select the connection of your win xp. Click Ok.
- After that reconnect your internet connection. And I hope everything will be working fine.
SHARING YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION
BETWEEN TWO PCS

using wireless modem or Bluetooth or having only one Wi-Fi enabled device.
This
post will guide you to connect your two
PCS one running WIN XP and other running WIN 7.
First of
all you should know that WIN 7 HOME BASIC does not allow to create home group,
rather you can connect through other home group network. As WIN 7 does not
allow you to create a home group so
your win xp should have a home group created.
Connect
your cable(CAT 5) between the two PCS.

HOME GROUP ON WIN XP
CONFIGURING
NETWORK ON WIN 7
Insert
WIN XP CD and run the NETWORK SETUP WIZARD by selecting SET UP A HOME OR SMALL
OFFICE NETWORK.
Some
manual settings if internet doesn't work.
Note:
Restart your pc when asked to do so.
Remember
that in the above guide you are connected to Internet directly on WIN 7 and are sharing this connection to use
internet on WIN XP. You can only connect two PCs by this type.
